The first art piece is based around upton sinclair's the jungle. It is my character in a meat packing factory with a missing hand hold a sign for workers rights. this is a commentary on the way works have fought for and are still fighting for better conditions in the work place.

The second piece of art is a shoot out in a speak easy. I feel like it shows how romanticized the 1920's can be. I personally really enjoyed the process of this drawing and was more inspired by games like cuphead then the actual time period for th art.

The third art work is about the hays code. The hays code was a ban on explicit content that affected studio's like the Fleisher brothers and their Betty Boop cartoons. The hays code got a lot of works banned limiting the types of stories that could be told due to the slightly suggestive or violent nature of some cartoons and other films. thankfully this was ended in the 60's but it does cause me concern as an artist in the digital age. To me it shows how easy it is to censor content of artists.

My last work of art shows World War two propaganda example posters over lyrics from "Welcome home(finale)" from the musical Bandstand. I wanted to show the publics opinion verse the propaganda that so often depicts everyone in support of what was happening. More often then not people were against the war knowing that there would be more of an affect on the troops we were sending off to die at war or come back with sever injuries.
